Course content
|
Contemporary Business Issues. Technological World. Problem Solving / Negotiating. International Business Comparison. Marketing / Advertising. Data Analysis. Presentations. Complex language exam based on the standardized testing materials and including both the receptive and the productive language skills.

Learning outcomes
|
The main course objective is to enhance the previously acquired language skills with special attention paid to the development of the language used in the specific area of Business English. The initial level of communicative competence: B2 in General English. The final level of communicative competence: B2+ in Business English. The course focuses on developing vocabulary and productive skills relevant to students´ future professional careers.
The student is able to communicate interactively at B2 level, is versed in using extended Business English vocabulary. B2/BE: Speaking: interactivity, distinguishing register. Reading: mastering reading techniques, advanced use of dictionaries and sources of information. Writing: respecting style and register. Listening: comprehension of commonly mediated types of listening (Working English).

Communicative competence: CEFR B2 in general English.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Work-related product analysis, Didactic test
Portfolio of assignments submitted by a given date. Written test (pass mark 60%). Oral test. Moodle - going through the course.
