Course content
Business meetings: meeting clients, introductions, communicating programmes for foreign visitors, accepting and refusing invitations. Everyday business: workplace communication, company organizational structure, departments, job description, working hours. Phone communication: making an appointment, postponing or cancelling an appointment, leaving a message. Order processing. Bank transactions, payment transactions.

Learning outcomes
Based on the characteristics of the entry level of B1, the aim of the study subject is providing the extension of general vocabulary and its enrichment in terms of the relevant terminology, the practise of the corresponding language means and obtaining the skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading) applicable both in the area of general language as well as the language for specific purposes, expected at the level B1+.
Students who successfully complete the course can: Introduce themselves in a new foreign language environment, structure and explain a study visit programme, express and invitation to an event; Describe a company structure, company business and their role in the company; Make appointments; Place orders; Prepare applications in the banking sector and deal with banking transactions. Students who successfully complete the course can use the relevant language subskills on B1+ level CEFR with the aim to: Understand the meaning and main points of events and information concerning their personal or professional field of interest; Understand everyday job-related texts; Express their opinion about the common professional issues; Write a simple coherent text relating to their personal and professional field of interest. Students who successfully complete the course: Are informed about the basic communication situations of a foreign language context; Can transfer general information in the spoken and written form; Understand the relevant texts and spoken utterance in the standard language form.

- for non-native speakers Communicative competence: CEFR B1 in general German.

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation, Didactic test

Attending 70% of the sessions Completion of all prescribed assignments Exam/ Credit is based on the summary of materials/topics covered in the sessions.
