Academic texts with historical context. Grammar, listening. Grammar of historic academic language (e.g. preterit, perfect of irregular verbs, subordinate clauses and word order, numerals, dates, prepositions, geographical names, declination, participles, passive voice). Specific subjects: 1. Kultur; Soziale Problematik 2. Das Kaiserliche Deutschland 3. Österreich - Die Erste Republik; Die Weimarer Republik 4. Machtergreifung 1933 5. Weltmachtpolitik und der NS-Staat 1933-39

Learning outcomes
|
The course is designed to foster language skills at the level of A2. Emphasis is put on speaking, listening and reading comprehension and grammar, further on mentoring of work with special materials and scripts focused on German for historians. The target level of the course is A2+ assuming the combination of an active participation in the course and autonomous preparation within the e-course FPNH2.
