This short course of 4 blocks (JC/UDA1, JC/UDA2, JC/UDA3, JC/UDA4)is designed for postgraduate students seeking to refine their academic writing skills in English. Through a structured and practice-oriented approach, students will explore key differences between Czech and English academic writing, including text organization, paragraph and sentence structure, and authorial identity. The course will address the distinct requirements of research articles, literature reviews, and argumentative texts, with particular attention to structuring introductions and conclusions using the Triangle Model. Issues of clarity, readability, and the appropriate balance between formality and accessibility in academic style will also be examined. In addition to writing-focused sessions, participants will have the opportunity to present their work and receive constructive feedback on both written and oral communication. This course aims to equip students with the skills necessary to produce clear, well-structured, and academically rigorous texts in English.
