Course content
Basics of swimming techniques. Rescue swimming - helping and rescuing a drowning person. Jumping techniques. Approaching, grabbing, straightening and pulling a drowning person. Retrieving a drowning person. Basics of diving and swimming underwater. Swimming with ABC. Retrieving objects in the water, from the bottom of the pool, etc. Vessel control techniques.

  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 34 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to improve students' swimming styles, which are a necessary condition for mastering the elements of water rescue. Students will acquire basic knowledge in the field of water rescue in closed pools and in open water. They will master the basics of hydrology, the use of vessels and rescue aids. An integral part will be improving movement habits, which lead to increased physical and mental resistance.
The student will master swimming techniques, techniques for rescuing a drowning person, and will master the basic technique of jumping into the water, swimming underwater, and diving with ABC.
Prerequisites
Good physical and health fitness.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment

75% active participation in classes Master swimming styles - breaststroke, backstroke, crawl. Fulfillment of the following credit requirements: Swimming: 20m underwater - start from the water - collect 3 pucks at the end of the section, Rescuing a drowning person: pulling a drowning person, approaching a drowning person, grabbing and straightening a drowning person, 50m - rescuing a model, rescue with a belt, taking a drowning person out of a deep pool Diving: 50m swimming with ABC, pouring water from a mask Note: ABC - mask, snorkel, fins - own Master kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.
