Course content
Introduction to self-defense and some kind of martial arts. Preparatory motor skills, exercises to develop response capabilities and martial games. Psychology and tactics in self-defense. Basic positions, poses and movements (including dodging punches, escapes, orientation in space, etc.). Basic defensive actions (blocks, breaking the grip, defense against chokes, etc.). Training of selected locks. Basic techniques of punches and kicks. Principles of safe falling and falling techniques. Basics of take downs. Combat techniques on the ground. Defense against weapons using articles of everyday use. Acquaintance with the possibilities of defensive resources. Model situations.

Students will learn the basic principles of self-defense and the martial arts disciplines.
Prerequisites
A prerequisite for the study is primarily interested in the topic and willingness to learn new skills. The course does not rely on physical fitness, and therefore it is suitable for women and less physically fit individuals. SEB1 is not a prerequisite for this course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment

75% active participation in lessons. Teacher tells the other requirements in the first week of semester.
