Key learning outcomes The aim of this vocationally oriented study program "Applied Electrical Engineering" is to prepare both professional and college educated experts for the work force where they can find jobs in technical or lower managerial positions in the corporate sector. In terms of areas of education this study program is conceived as electro technically focused. It is primarily focused on the application of knowledge of principles on which electrotechnics and microprocessor technics is based. It also provides sufficient theoretical basis for further professional growth. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, electronics, electronic components and microprocessor technology and will acquire knowledge in the design, application and management of modern measuring, communication and sensor systems. Emphasis is placed on the use of microprocessor technology in the areas of control technology, automation, computer and other communication networks; which are widely used in modern technology, and highly sought after in electrical engineering. Practical verification of acquired knowledge will be supported by the use of modern laboratory equipment (universal measuring workplace, workplace of prototype production, laboratory of microprocessor technology, etc.) designed to verify and deepen the acquired theoretical knowledge, which will increase the graduate's chances in the labour market. The concept of laboratory equipment is based on the modern technical background used in industry, but it is broadly complemented for the purposes of university studies. The range of practical skills will be supported by one-semester practice in technology companies to gain practical experience in the business sector.
