Key learning outcomes
|
The specialization of Protection of Historical Heritage and Archaeology is offered in combination with the specialization of History. The objective of this specialisation is to educate and train specialists with the bachelor qualification who will have mastered the basics of specialised work; they will have gained practical skills in archaeology and museology; and they will have acquired knowledge of practical application of these skills in historical research and museum work. The study is based on close cooperation with museums and archaeological institutions. Graduates will be trained mainly for positions requiring practical skills, not for historical research, and thus they will be able to handle the basics of specialised work, to apply knowledge of archaeology and museology and they will have mastered fieldwork, laboratory and office skills with regard to relevant legislation and general principles of management. They will also be able to organise educational and popularisation activities of their employers' institutions. Graduates will be prepared for work of a more qualified specialist in historically oriented institutions (museums, public associations, institutions dealing with protection of monuments, etc.). They will be able to manage and monitor activities of specialised departments or to individually perform specialised activities (e.g. organise fieldwork, document fieldwork by means of photography and catalogue collected material, etc.). Graduates will be equipped with knowledge applicable in further study of master programmes of Historical Sciences or related disciplines.
