Course content
|
Tackling the restoration of the first modern links with regard to the materials used (also plastics etc.). Types of links, analysis of the materials used by reference to the paper backing and color layer; typologies. Types of quantity. Paper, leather, man-made synthetic leather, textiles and other species; types of plates: wood, metal, paper, textiles, synthetic substance. Book block: types of machine sewing; restorer´s working paper: species, method of manufacture, composition. Printing: species, fashions; analysis of the damage; the disassembly of bind, packaging and block. Book block; the methodology for restoration and conservation documentation large files. Archive, storage, protection and prevention of large files; project of a complex restoration in situ.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is designed to deal with a complete range of restorative and konzervátorských interventions from survey monuments, evaluation analysis, the development of restorative project and documenting how to work, to resolve this issue, save and the protection of the restored work.
Student has enough power to address the issue of the restoration of works of the modern book culture.

Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Work-related product analysis
Test in the form of evaluation of the student realised in the Studio. Participation in studio exercise is required.
