Course content
1. Modern management theory background and praxis. Changes in the management conditions in 80ties and 90ties as a background of the process management and reengineering approach. Influence of informatics and IS/IT development (the work of M. Hammer and J. Champy). 2. Traditional approach to the enterprise management (the work of M. Hammer and J. Champy). Illustration of the "reengineering thinking", its place among other trends of modern management approaches in 90ties. 3. Business process analysis methodology, its principles and basic consequences. Relationship to the reengineering processes. 4. Business process analysis and IS/IT development. Process modeling as a basis for the IS development. 5. History of the reengineering ideas in 90ties, reengineering crisis and its consequences. Different approaches, schools, methods, and tools.

Learning outcomes
Overview of the theory and practical applications of the reengineering approaches in 1990ties. Discussion of topics in the area of theory as well as practical applications, including the relationship to the theory of IS/IT development. Creation of conditions for the application of this knowledge in doctoral works as well as their successful application in theory and praxis of the information management and general management.
