1. Summary of system engineering and software engineering methods development 2. Specification of possible procedures of running projects, life cycles of projects. 3. Parts of life cycle of projects, their content, working methods, relations, linkage and documentation. Yourdon structure method (YSM) 4. Methods and tools of YSM 5. Sample project of the design of the system using YSM 6. Structural versus object oriented approach to the analysis and design of the system 7. Object oriented methods of analysis and design of the system (OOA/OOD) 8. Unified Modeling Language (UML) 9. Management of the project basic principles, attributes, tools and their computer support 10. Projects and their software support IS - CASE 11. Connected areas and trends (BPR, meta-modeling ?)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to give the summary of basic principles of design of information systems and methodologies of software engineering and structural and object oriented methods, and accompanied CASE tools and basic features. Further aim is to give introduction to the use of CASE tools and tam work with CASE tools and use of MS project tool for planning and management of the project. Student will gain knowledge solving projects using modern methods and tools.
