Course content
Current diagnostic approach to surgical subspecialties. New pharmacological approach (classes) to current surgical treatment. New therapeutic approach to surgical subspecialties. Using EBN in surgical practice.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the newest diagnostic and treatment methods in surgical subspecialties. Attention is paid to changes in pharmacological approach to treatment and to use and maintenance of new equipment. Emphasis is placed upon the issue of an ethical approach to the patient.
Students will acquire new knowledge through work with not only domestic, but also with foreign sources (EBN). Based on new information, students will be guided to develop educational materials and to exert efforts to innovate selected practices. Student education will focus on problem-solving using creative/scientific methods and on applying gained knowledge to nursing practice.
