Presentations. Presentation Phraseology. Environment. Modal verbs. Pre-Press and Post-Press. Prefixes and Suffixes. Offset. Passive Voice. Flexoprint. Gerunds and Infinitives. Intaglio. Zero and First Conditional. Sreen Print. Second Conditional. Pad Print. Reported Speech. Digital Print. Imperative. Poster. Interpreting Graphs. Language exam focusing both on accuracy and fluency of the candidate?s performance in a foreign language by means of completing the tasks set within the standardized testing materials.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the subject is to deepen and expand the knowledge and skills obtained during the previous learning of the English language with an emphasis on technical terminology and grammar structures relevant to the field of study. In the progress of the course, attention is paid to the application of the adopted language instruments and speech skills to the technical language, taking into consideration the needs of the future practice (speaking and writing skills, listening and reading comprehension when working with technical texts). The course includes working with technical texts and studying materials from the fields of chemistry and printing by means of tutored eLearning course in LMS Moodle and through e-portfolio creation in Mahara.
The student understands the main ideas of clearly state input information concerning common topics, can write a simple piece of coherent text and can give brief reasons for his or her opinions. The target level of the course is B1. Specialized texts of various chemistry/printing branches will be studied and commented on, thus improving the overall competence of the learners enabling them to present their own project in English for specific purpose at B1 level.

Prerequisites
|
The student is supposed to be capable of language competence at A2+ level, basic grammar structures, basic general and professional vocabulary to allow us follow up with further specific vocabulary acquirement. The student can communicate by means of simple and common tasks in the basic life and career situations. The initial level of the course is A2+.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Didactic test
The credit will be given on the basis of prepared and presented semestral paper on an assigned theme and on the basis of the end-term test. The exam will be given on the basis of passing an oral exam - job interview simulation and topic discussion.
