Course content
Careers / Making deals Products and packaging / Customer support Corporate culture / Company and society Mergers and acquisitions / International trade Complex language exam based on the standardized testing materials and including both the receptive and the productive language skills.

Learning outcomes
Subject completion requirements in case of a distance teaching mode: Based on the teacher´s requirements, the student participates in online lessons according to the schedule and completes the assigned tasks via the online systems Moodle / MS Teams. Based on the characteristics of the entry level of B1, the aim of the study subject is providing the extension of general vocabulary and its enrichment in terms of the relevant terminology, the practise of the corresponding language means and obtaining the skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading) applicable both in the area of general language as well as the language for specific purposes, expected at the level B1+.
At the end of the study subject, the student will be able to use English language in the following ways: to express basic information about the professional career; to use relevant grammar structures within the areas of negotiating and customer service; to describe relevant aspects of enterprise management; to explain the basic terms in the area of international trade. At the end of the study subject, the student will be able to use the acquired B1+ language means in order to: understand general meaning and the main points of the events and news related to his/her personal or professional interests; understand the texts related to everyday issues or work-related topics; express his/her opinions in dialogues on general or work-related topics; write a coherent text focused on his/her personal or professional interests At the end of the study subject, the student will be generally able: to get the basic orientation in the most frequent communicative situations in the foreign-language context; to transmit the general information effectively both in spoken and written form; to understand the topic-relevant texts and the spoken expressions formulated in standard language.
Prerequisites
- for non-native speakers Communicative competence: CEFR B1 in general English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral performance analysis, Didactic test

Completion of all whole-semester tasks defined by the teacher. The final testing will be carried out by means of standardised testing materials and focused on identifying the level of the student´s language competence.
