Course content
Contemporary Business Issues. Technological World. Problem Solving / Negotiating / Chairing and Participating in Meetings. International Business Comparison. Marketing / Advertising. Data Analysis. Presentations. Language exam focusing both on accuracy and fluency of the candidate?s performance in a foreign language by means of completing the tasks set within the standardized testing materials.

Learning outcomes
The main course objective is to enhance the previously acquired language skills with special attention paid to the development of the language used in the specific area of Business English. The initial level of communicative competence: B2 in General English. The final level of communicative competence: B2+ in Business English. The course focuses on developing vocabulary and productive skills relevant to students´ future professional careers.
The student is able to communicate interactively at B2 level, is versed in using extended Business English vocabulary. B2/BE: Speaking: interactivity, distinguishing register. Reading: mastering reading techniques, advanced use of dictionaries and sources of information. Writing: respecting style and register. Listening: comprehension of commonly mediated types of listening (Working English).
Prerequisites
Communicative competence: CEFR B2 in general English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Work-related product analysis, Didactic test

Submitting seminar papers a week prior to the end of the term. Students may select: videoconference session with a partner university (UCLan Preston, UK; AUA AThens )and submit 2 seminar assignments per the term, active participation in an intercultural seminar or to prepare field-specialised e-learning materials for exams in a form of 2 seminar assignments per the term. Presentation (Presenting a Company/Product or Service/Strategy). Exam: Test in writing: pass mark 60%; oral part. Format of final testing will cover all relevant language instruments and language skills gained in EPA2L and will draw on standardised testing materials.
