Course content
Nature and Environment Cultural life and Socializing News, Politics and History, Search for a job Celebrations Emotions and feelings Inventions Complex language exam based on the standardized testing materials and including both the receptive and the productive language skills

Learning outcomes
The course is designed to build on skills acquired in the course EPNEC and to foster the acquired language level. The two semester course develops four basic language skills: reading, listening comprehension, writing and speaking skills.
Students are able to make themselves understood both in writing and spoken language in everyday situations. They are able to describe their needs and their surroundings and can write simple texts about things they are familiar with and to give reasons for their opinions.
Prerequisites
Communicative competence: CEFR A2 in general German.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

Active participation in the e-learning course with minimum pass mark 60%; submitting all e-learning assigments and active production of Mahara e-portfolio. Active 70% attendance at contact lessons. Language oral exam (speaking about determined subjects practiced during the both semesters)focusing both on accuracy and fluency of the candidate's performance in a foreign language by means of completing the tasks set within the standardized testing materials.
