Course content
Computer applications. Computers at work. Jobs in IT. Types of computer systems. Describing systems and functions. Computers for particular work situations. Websites. Describing computer system. Shops and shopping. Buying a computer. Databases. Database of terminology. Final test based on the standardized test items.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities, Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The goal of the subject is to deepen and expand the knowledge and skills obtained during the previous learning of the English language with an emphasis on technical terminology and grammar structures relevant to the field of study. In the progress of the course, attention is paid to the application of the adopted language instruments and speech skills to the technical language, taking into consideration the needs of the future practice (speaking and writing skills, listening and reading comprehension when working with technical texts). The target level is A2.
The student can communicate by means of simple and common tasks in the basic life and career situations. The target level of the course is A2.
Prerequisites
Communicative competence CEFR A1 level in general English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Oral performance analysis, Didactic test

Passing the credit test (pass mark 60 %). Completing two assignments upon the teacher's requirements.
