Course content
Hygiene. Mental Health Nursing Monitoring the Patient Medication. Alternative treatment Standardized final language exam which consists of both the written and the oral part and which also reflects the specific command of language relevant to the students' professional needs.

Learning outcomes
Subject completion requirements in case of a distance teaching mode: Based on the teacher´s requirements, the student participates in online lessons according to the schedule and completes the assigned tasks via the online systems Moodle / MS Teams. The aim of the course is the development of language skills and the introduction of Medical English. The course should consolidate knowledge and command of English and increase interest in English learning. The focus is on the extension of the passive and active command of basic medical vocabulary, revision of basic grammar structures, and practice of language skills. The initial level of communicative competence: B2 in General English. The final level of communicative competence: B2 in Medical English.
The student is able to communicate interactively at B2 level, is capable of using relevant Medical English vocabulary. B2/MedE: Speaking: interactivity, distinguishing register. Reading: mastering reading techniques, advanced use of dictionaries and sources of information. Writing: respecting style and register. Listening: comprehension of commonly mediated types of listening on familiar matters regularly encountered in the hospital.
Prerequisites
- for non-native speakers Communicative competence: CEFR B1+ in general English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral performance analysis, Didactic test

Students will prepare and present a semestral work on an assigned theme. Attending 70% of the sessions Completion of all prescribed assignments Exam/ Credit is based on the summary of materials/topics covered in the sessions. The exam consists of a written test (pass mark 60%) and an oral interview.
