Course content
|
The course is designed to develop existing language skills in job-related contexts. Students practice German for specific purposes and familiarize themselves with issues peculiar to their branch of study. Learners extend their knowledge of sorting and using current information and improve their skill in the target language of the following specific medical themes: 1. Structure of the human body - continuation; Human body diseases - continuation ;. Medicines - continued 2. Counseling and support in specialist practice; Equipment in specialist practice 3. Seniors - continuation; Aid for the elderly - continued; Disabled - continue 4. Preparation for surgery - continued; Perioperative Care - continued; Postoperative care - continued; Devices in the operating room - continued 5. Communication in social and medical professions III.; Social facilities - continued; Social services - continued 6. Work with modern social networks in medical professions II.

Learning outcomes
|
Aims: The course is designed to develop existing language skills in job-related contexts. Students practice German for specific purposes and familiarize themselves with issues peculiar to their branch of study. Learners extend their knowledge of sorting and using current information and improve their skill in the target language. The expected entry level is B1+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Learners are expected to have the skill of collecting and processing information.
Skills and competences: Learners will be able to understand complex texts , to handle topics related to medicine and to give reasons for their opinions. They will be able to draft a detailed text on a wide range of topics.

Communicative competence: CEFR B1+ in specific German.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Home assignment evaluation, Didactic test, Discussion
Standardized final language exam which consists of both the written and the oral part and which also reflects the specific command of language relevant to the student´s professional needs based on submitted assigned tasks and a seminar paper related to the specific medical topics.
