Course content

Complete Advanced 3rd edition, Units 1-4. Covered topics will include for example: Grammar: - past verb forms - the passive - purpose, reason, result - modal verbs for possibility and probability Vocabulary: - collocations with give, make, get, do - multi-word verbs - dependent prepositions General topics: - People like us - More than words - Mind, body and soul - Carreer paths Listening, reading and writing skills. Additional materials and topics provided by the instructors.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to develop students' communicative competence in English in all its areas - linguistic, pragmatic and strategic. Students develop their skills to use the English language effectively in its spoken and written forms appropriate to the social context. The content is the development of productive and receptive skills based on the acquisition of relevant linguistic resources.
Students will acquire grammatical and lexical accuracy of expression and fluency of speech depending on stylistic affiliation. At the same time, they will develop the ability to realize a communicative intention. Students will develop linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic competence.
