Výstupy z učení
|
Through analysing canonical plays, the course will examine the trends in American drama of the twentieth century. The discussion will mostly follow a chronological order. Particular attention will be given to seminal plays of the period - Streetcar Named Desire, Long Day's Journey into Night, Death of a Salesman etc. and to their reception. Students will also be encouraged to go to the theatre at least once during the winter term. As the dramatic landscape often reflects the debates and ideas of the period in which the plays were written, students will become acquainted with the socio-cultural background of the selected plays.
Studenti si rozvinou své komunikativní kompetence, schopnost literární a kulturní analýzy a interkulturní kompetenci.
