Course content |
Meeting a business partner (awareness of cultural differences, presenting oneself). Telephoning, messages (note taking, making notes, asking for and giving information). Jobs and careers (CV, résumé, interview, applying for a job, work experience). Writing business letters (basic skills and techniques for business correspondence). Summaries, notes, reports (writing reports, making notes, summarizing and taking notes). The language of meetings (reviewing past business, beginning the meeting). Working together (talking about where you work, employment policy, company's activities, organization and history). Processes and operations (production process). Production (basic principles of market economy).

Learning outcomes |
This course is aimed at the skills needed for efficient and fluent communication in socialising, business, and administrative affairs. Emphasis is especially given to the systematic development of specific vocabulary and relevant grammar structures regarding cultural differences. The key objective of this course is the mastery of business, legal, and academic terminology.
The course leads to the development of communicative competence in the field of English for Specific Purposes (business, legal and academic English), of terminology knowledge and use (passive and active approach), relevant grammar structures in appropriate functional styles and reflecting cultural differences, and of general business skills. |
