Course content
Types of translations, proofreading. Translation 1 - Smart Patient Data. Translation 2 - Advertising. Translation 3 - Traveller´s Guide. Simultaneous interpreting practice. Translation 4 - Awards Given Away. Translation 5 - Emission Study. Consecutive interpreting practice. Translation 6 - Evaluation of a Real Estate. Simultaneous interpreting practice. Translating poetry - Cinderella. Handing in portfolios.

Learning outcomes
Translation Seminar I mainly focuses on gaining practical translation skills. The whole seminar is based on working with texts in original as well as target language, textual analysis of the existing translations and participants own translation work as well as its analysis. Theoretical knowledge from the lectures in Introduction into the Translation Theory is applied here. Students work on translation from English into the Czech language.
Students will improve their language and translation competence.

Attendance and active participation in classes. In-class oral presentation. Completion of all assigned translations.
