Course content
How to apply for a job. What to include in the monitoring report and how to write it. What to include in the diary and how to write it. How to do a research project - brief summary of research methodology, requirements.

Learning outcomes
Students work for one month in companies where they communicate mainly in English or the communication within the company is influenced by English. Students concentrate on writing business letters, various forms of communication (oral, traditionally written, e-mail), and on analysing the company culture (how and why it influences cooperation, communication, and public relations within the company). Students always work under the leadership of the previously chosen mentor, keep a training-diary, and apply an active approach to training. Evaluations made by mentors and the activities that the students realize during the training represent requirements for obtaining credit.
Students will learn to apply theoretical knowledge in training jobs, develop understanding of contemporary situation in companies + other organizations, and their needsk. They will develop skills in the field of internal/external company communication in English or/and Czech, public relations, and team work, and also the evaluation skills in the field of the company culture and its influence on communication, public relations and cooperation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Work-related product analysis

Internship in the length of 120 hours (min. 6 hours a day, max. 4 weeks) Monitoring report (description of the company and its management, diary, evaluation of the training, brief description of the research; 900 - 1500 words). Collecting data for the Project seminar (PROJ) on the company, its product, or the project students participated on. Doing the research.
