Course content

Professional competence of English language teacher written annotation, analysis and alteration of own video-recordings (UCPX1 recordings and analysis). Professional competence of English language teacher - creation of 1 observation sheet. Professional competence of English language teacher - critical evaluation of a textbook, creating and presenting a databank of teaching materials.

Learning outcomes
|
Project II is integrated with Teaching Practice II and aims at the development of student teachers´ professional competence in teaching English at lower secondary schools. Reflective strategies and techniques help activate professional knowledge base for teaching namely in the areas of content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge and develop professional teaching skills necessary for material development and evaluation.
Students will develop their professional teaching competence within the framework of a three-stage cycle planning - teaching - analysing. Furthermore, their skills in the area of material development and evaluation will evolve.

The credit is awarded on the basis of creation and analysis of own observation sheet; the completion and presentation of the databank of teaching materials (one activity for a swop shop); list of literature (studied, used for/in lessons).
