Course content
Sample description. Determination of physical constants of sample. Classification of solubility. Elementary analysis. Classification reactions of functional groups. Preparation of derivatives of organic compounds for their identification. Measurement and interpretation of UV and IR spectra. Analysis and identification of compounds using separation techniques (HPLC, GC, TLC). Analysis of bifunctional compounds and organic esters. Analysis of mixtures of compounds - selection of conditions and izolation of compounds from mixtures using preparative chromatography.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to practice classical and instrumental analytical methods for analysis and identification of organic compounds or mixtures.
The coarse is final stage of practical work in laboratories and students will use acquired knowledge of preparative organic chemistry, separation techniques and spectral techniques for analysis of organic compounds or their mixtures.
Prerequisites
Knowledges of analytical, physical (and organic) chemistry on the bachelor degree level.
