Course content
Gradient elution in liquid chromatography. Trace analysis of herbicides by HPLC. IR spectrometry - identification of unknown sample by interpretation of IR spectra and quantitative measurements. Stripping voltammetry - determination of heavy metals on carbon paste electrodes with bismuth film. Pressurised solvent extraction/gas chromatography - analysis of oils. ETA AAS - determination of copper in milk. Capillary zone electrophoresis - detetmination of inorganic anions in water. Determination of caffeine by micellar electrokinetic chromatography.

Learning outcomes
Course Advanced Instrumental Analysis is the continuation of Instrumental Analytical Methods and laboratories of the IMA courses. Students are introduced to advanced instrumental analytical methods that may be encountered in practice. Laboratories are equipped with appropriate instrumentation and the necessary computer technology.
Graduate of the course will be able to work in analytical laboratory equipped with modern instrumental methods.
Prerequisites
Knowledges of analytical, physical (and organic) chemistry on the bachelor degree level.

Oral examination, Home assignment evaluation
