Course content
Modern electrochemistry and electroanalysis 1) Electrochemical stripping analysis (ESA): Stripping voltammetry: ASV, CSV, AdSV techniques and their combination with DPV and SWV. Stripping potentiometry and its variants. Examples of use in electroanalysis. 2) Solid phase electrochemistry (SPE or SPV), electrography, SPV, AbV and measurement with CPEE. 3) Molecular electrochemistry: the study of organic and biological substances). 4) Electroanalysis with carbon paste electrodes. 5) (Eco)electroanalysis with bismuth-based electrodes (types BiE and BiFE), comparison with HMDE and MFE. 6) Environmental analysis. 7) Electrochemical biosensors. 8) Electrochemical detection in K. Fischer's method for determining water. 9a) Electroanalysis of food. 9b) Electrochemical measurements in pharmaceutical and clinical analysis. 10) Overlaps of electrochemistry into other disciplines: Corrosion processes, batteries, fuel cells, conductive polymers. Industrial electrolysis. (Electro)separation on membranes, electrodialysis.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Work with text (with textbook, with book)
Learning outcomes
Introducing students to modern trends in electrochemistry and electroanalysis, such as biosensors, solid-phase voltammetry, environmental, eco- and green analysis or food and pharmaceutical analysis.
Graduates of the course will gain an overview of modern electrochemistry and electroanalysis, with emphasis on latest research results achieved by the electroanalytical group of the Department of Analytical Chemistry as a part of specialized teaching or when solving research projects.
Prerequisites
The subject builds on the knowledge acquired in the previous subjects "Instrumental Analytical Methods" and also "Laboratory of Instrumental Analytical Methods".

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Předmět navazuje na základní znalosti získané v rámci předmětu Instrumentální analýza; written test - 70% of exam, orakl examination - 30% of exam.
