Amino acids, peptides and proteins - chirality, function, properties, difference acording the structure Saccharides - chirality, function, properties, difference acording the structure. Glycosides bond. Other derivatives. Lipids - structure, function and differentiation. Simple, complexe and polar lipids. Phospholipids. Vitamins - structure, function, differentiation and significance. Hormones - structure, function and significance. Nucleosides, nucleotides, nucleic acids - structure and significance. Genetic code, mutations. Enzymes - clasifications, nomenclature and biochemical significance, active and allosteric sites. Kinetic of enzymatic reactions, substrate and effect specifity. Enzyme inhibition. Respiratory chain and oxidative phosphorylation. Chemiosmotic theory of ATP synthesis. Photosynthesis. Citric acid and glyoxylate cycles, principle and significance. Pyruvate decomposition. Anaplerotic reactions. Glycolysis, alcoholic fermentation, pentose-phosphate pathway. Fructose and galactose utilisation. Lipid metabolism. Carnitine function, beta-oxidation of even-, odd-numbered and unsaturated fatty acids. Propionyl-CoA metabolism. Degradation of proteins and amino acids. Transamination, aldolisation and decarboxylation. C-skeletons utilisation. Ammonia detoxification and excretion by living subject. Ornithine cycle. Nukleotide metabolism. |
According the subject, students will be acquainted with a basic knowledges concerning biochemistry of living subjects with accent on the catabolic and anabolic processes. The course of biochemical processes is described on molecular level and documentated through chemical equations with enzyme catalysis.
According the subject, student will get a complex knowledges about course of basic metabolic processes of living subjects. He is able to solve a problems of enzymatic catalysis of biochemical equations and experimentaly follow the course of main different biochemical equations.
