The aim is to provide comprehensive information on the structural and functional characteristics of the human immune system, on the physiology and pathology of immunity, on immunological treatment and prevention, and on the possibilities and methods of laboratory evaluation of the state of immunity in health and disease. Individual topics of clinical immunology are always discussed in the context of recommended examination procedures. Specifically, the principles of the methods, the method of execution, and the interpretation of the results in the clinical context are discussed. Seminars are part of the teaching, where students get acquainted with examination algorithms: orientational immunological examination, methods of first choice, special immunological examination. Acquaintance with case reports supplemented with an overview of proposed laboratory examinations and their results in the framework of diagnostics and monitoring the success of therapy is an integral part of the topics discussed. Students are also required to prepare a seminar paper, which is a 10-minute ppt presentation on a selected topic presented and discussed in front of the students.
