Apoptosis/necrosis assessments Mitochondrial activity measurements Microscopy - fluorescence, bright field, phase contrast, intracellular cell probes Instrumentation Self work with cutting-edge scientific papers

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
The aim is to provide an overview on convenient and advanced methods for cell analysis. Students have an access to the information on equippment and standard processes in cell laboratory, incl. preservation, cell culture, and cell testing in vitro. Basal and advanced cellular methods are described, incl. cell differentiation protocols, proliferation, apoptosis, etc. The subject C479 is a prerequisity for following subjects: stem cells, molecular-biological methods, cell toxicology, etc.
The students are provided with the knowledge from advanced cell analysis methods, incl. cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
Prerequisites
The subject C479 follows the knowledge from Cytology and Molecular biology and genetics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Self project defence
