    | Chemical composition of cell. Cell theory. Bio membranes (structure, composition). Internal Cell membrane system. Semiautonomous organells (mitochondrions, chloroplasts). Cytoskeleton, microtubules, microfilaments, intermediate filaments, cell and organelle movement. Nucleus-composition and function, structure of chromosomes, disruption of number and structure of chromosomes. Structure and function of DNA, replication, realization of genetic information, transcription, translation. Cell reproduction, cell cycle,mitosis, cytokinesis. Malignant cell transformation, damage and cell death, necrosis and apoptosis. Viruses, characteristic, structure and shape of virions. Virus reproduction in host cells, classification of viruses. Prions. Cell and its neighbourhood, inter cell communication, adhesion, recognition of cells, extracellular matrix. Reproduction of organism, asexual, sexual reproduction, meiosis, spermatogenesis, oogenesis, semination, ontogenesis. Evolution, micro and macroevolution.

            | Students obtain particular conception of the of cell biology in different types of eukaryotic cells (animal, plant, fungi) and prokaryotic cells. Students will be able to take bearings in biology. Biology is prerequisite for biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, immunology etc.
