Course content
|
Thermal inactivation, lethal temperature and time. The effect of pH, osmotic pressure and UV light. The effect of disinfection, antibiotics and various organic stains. The determination of bacterial count on the surfaces and in water samples. Biochemical test based on the saccharides metabolism. Biochemical test based on the nitrogen compounds metabolism. Other biochemical test. Diagnostic microtests, software TNW for identification of MO. Identification of yeasts (auxonograms, zymograms). Final examination work: identification of unknown samlpe containing two bacterial species. Final written exam.

|
Practices of general microbiology, the influence of intrisic factors on the growth of microorganisms, the principles and preparation of biochemical tests for indentification of microorganisms. Students also govern determination of microorgnisms in air, water and surfaces.
Student governs kultivation techniques and identification of microorganisms using biochemical tests.

A classified credit is based on the assumption that student graduate all the experimental works, prepare protocols, final written exam and succesfull identification of test sample.
