Course content
|
The occupational safety in laboratory of clinical biochemistry. Biological material. Plasma and serum. The determination of analytical parameters of the method (linearity, precision, accuracy, limit of detection) - theory. The practical determination of analytical parameters of the method (linearity, precision, accuracy, limit of detection). Proteins. Importance and possibilities of total protein and albumin determination. Electrophoretic separation of proteins. Determination of C-reactive protein. Non-protein nitrogen substances. Determination of urea. Determination of creatinine in serum and urine. Measurement of glomerular filtration. Enzymes and isoenzymes. Importance and possibilities of catalytic concentration determination of practically the most performed enzymes. Enzyme kinetics. Electrophoretic separation of isoenzymes (creatinkinase or lactate dehydrogenase). Hemolytic serum. Lipids. Determination of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL cholesterol, atherogenic index. Lipemic serum (chylosity). Glucose. Importance and possibilities of serum glucose determination. Oral glucose tolerance test. Blood pigments I - importance and possibilities of determination of glycated hemoglobin. Blood pigments II - importance and possibilities of bilirubin determination, conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin. Icteric serum. Tumormarkers. Determination of carcinoembryonal antigen immunochemically. Faecal occult blood test Vitamins. Determination of alpha-tocopherol in human plasma using HPLC with electrochemical detection. Chemical and toxicological examination of urine. Principles of semi-quantitative examination of elemental parameters using diagnostic PHAN strips, determination of total urine protein immunoturbidimetrically, detection and determination of salicylates in urine. Student presentation - biochemical laboratory diagnostic of selected diseases. Substitute laboratory exercises. Final test.
