Course content
The hygienic service. State healthy supervision forms. Requirements on laboratories which can to provide service in compliance with the law about protection of public health. Effects of chemical pollutants. Biological exposure tests. The basic analytical methods of biological exposure tests. The hygiene and physiology of work. Total and local physical load. Energy expenditure. Hygienic requirements for drinking water. The supervision of quality drinking water. Legislative measures. Hygienic requirements for water intended for bathing. The supervision of quality water for bathing. Legislative measures. The hygiene of soil. Health risks of soil contamination. The hygiene of waste. The hygiene of air. The supervision of quality outdoor and indoor air. Legislative measures. The food hygiene. The supervision over food quality and dish. Legislative measures. The issue of setting building. Used building materials. Noise in working and living environment. Analytical methodology for measuring noise. Vibration in working and living environment. Analytical methodology for measuring vibration. The issue of lighting. Harmlessness of articles, which can to be in common usage. Materials for contact with drinking water and food. Toys. Products for child up to three years old. Cosmetics. The basic definition of biological risk, the distribution of biological agents into four basic groups according to importance and probability of causing disease in humans. Biological agents of groups 3 and 4 with the highest health risks and risks of their misuse for bioterrorism. Biological effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation. The methodology for measuring. Biological effects of ionizing electromagnetic radiation. The methodology for measuring.

The aim is to inform student about hygiene and epidemiology at provision of public healthy and about application of biological and chemical investigative methods in protection of environment components.
After completing of the subject, the student will obtain an overall view in protecting of public health.
