Course content
Specialised lectures and exercises will be focused on above mentioned problems considering materials used, their corrosion, scientific research and conservation technology or restoration, resp. One part of lectures and exercises is focused on problems related to corrosion and conservation of further selected materials covered by this particular part of restoration problems. Study courses: Fundamentals of conservation of ceramic materials. Scopes: types of ceramic materials, their characteristics, causes of deterioration, conservation methods. Fundamentals of metal conservation. Scopes: metals utilised in art and handicraft production, their characteristics, causes and mechanisms of metal corrosion, methods of conservation and preventive protection. Fundamentals of cultural heritage recovery. Scopes: main types and causes of building structures damage, capillarity and its impact on historical buildings, principles of historical buildings recovery, practical model examples.

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on improving students´ knowledge considering restoration technology of polychrome stucco, architecture surface and conservation problems of related materials.
Students are able to apply efficiently materials and technological procedures at restoration of undercoat as well as polychrome layers of creative art and architecture pieces considering various material used in architecture.
