Academic Writing II The course provides theoretical knowledge of stylistics and works with primary and secondary sources. Students will gain practical skills to apply this knowledge in written discourse, especially in academic writing and writing their theses, in particular. The seminar uses theoretical texts and practical examples. The core of the course, however, lies in the analysis of students' own work. The subject, inter alia, incorporates the choice of the word meanings, stylistic layers of language, text organization, stylistic techniques such as narrative, description, exemplification, definition, professional style, the issue of quotations, paraphrases, summaries, writing abstracts, bibliographies, etc.
Students will gain practical skills for application of their knowledge mainly in the area of stylistics and work with primary and secondary sources and above all academic writing and will be able to use academic style, write a resumé, annotation, introduction.
