Course content
Basic market elements, supply, demand. Formation market, types of markets, market function. Customer behavior and formation of demand, theory of utility, balanced conditions, indifference analysis. Impact of change of customer's income on demand, income consumer curve for different goods, Engel's curve. Demand and supply elasticity, elasticity in the point and in the interval. Company behavior and formation of supply, production function, production in the short run and long run, cost determination, company's cost optimum. Company's income in the perfect competition and imperfect competition, corporate profit, balance of company, shutdown point of company, break-even point. Enterprise subjects in the Czech Republic, basic law forms of enterprise in the Czech Republic, characteristic of basic law forms of enterprise. Perfect competition, market equilibrium, influence of demand and supply on the market equilibrium. Imperfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly, monopolistic competition. Factor market. Employment market, equilibrium on the employment market. Capital market, equilibrium on the capital market. Disposition of incomes, unevenness in the incomes and their measurement. Time allowance, summary of issue.

Learning outcomes
The objective is to familiarize students with basic microeconomics terms and issue of relationship between them. The students learn to understand the behavior of individual market subject (especially consumers and companies) in condition of perfect and imperfect competition.
After passing this subject, the student understands basic microeconomic terms and has general view of basic microeconomic issues.
Prerequisites
It's expected the knowledge from secondary mathematics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

The student must prove during the semester and also by the exam, that he/she understands basic microeconomic terms and the ability to calculate the microeconomics. The tutor will notify the students within the first week of the term with the concrete requirements.
