Transport business and its specifics. Financing in transport. Analysis of factors influencing the demand for services. Analysis of factors influencing the supply of services. Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic procedures and principles used in the planning, management and evaluation of economic activity within a transport company and to teach them to apply these procedures and principles to specific examples.
After completing the course, students will gain the ability to analyze the basic conditions of business in transport, factors affecting the size of demand and supply in transport, revenues and costs of the transport company, including external transport costs. They will gain the ability to analyze and measure indicators characterizing the transport process in various modes of transport and their impact on pricing in transport services. They will gain knowledge about the main principles of evaluating the effectiveness of transport investments.

Knowledge of general business economics is assumed.

Oral examination
The exam is set in accordance with the UP Study and Examination Regulations.
