Course content
Significance of road vehicle diagnostic, basic concepts. Basic ways of diagnostic. Diagnostic of wheel alignment. Mechanical, optical and electronic diagnostic equipment. Diagnostic of shock-absorbers, diagnostic methods, testers and diagnostic records. Diagnostic of brake systems, diagnostic instruments and brake testers. Diagnostic of wheel balancing, stationary and mobile wheel balancing machine. Diagnostic systems for diagnostic of road vehicles transmissions. Diagnostic of mechanical parts of engines. Diagnostic of engine electroinstalation and electronic equipments. Petrol engine emission and diesel engine smoke emission measuring, analyzers and smokemeters. Diagnostic system for exhaust gas emissions control OBD I, OBD II and EOBD.

Learning outcomes
Subject objective is acquainting students with basics of present diagnostic systems and trends in diagnostic systems of road vehicles.
After complete the examination of this subject student is able to characterize present diagnostic systems of road vehicles and in common use diagnostic instruments and equipments. He has overview about trends of diagnostic systems development.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of constructions and their working at all diagnostic equipments of road vehicles is supposed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Student must evidence understanding all diagnostic systems of road vehicles during semester and also during final examination to the extent of talked over subject matter. Concrete requirements will be told students in the first week of semester by their teacher.
