Course content
Category and production of operating materials. Petroleum as raw material. Properties, testing methods and quality parameters of ignition engine fuels. Properties, testing methods and quality parameters of spark-ignition engine fuels. Properties, testing methods and quality parameters of alternative fuels. Properties, testing methods and quality parameters of oils, plastic and solid lubricants. Basic conception of tribology. Oil´s depreciation during operation. Principles of tribotechnic diagnostic (TTD). Operating and laboratory methods TTD. Properties, testing methods and quality parameters of another operating materials. Principles of physical instrumental method for quality control I. Principles of chemical instrumental method for quality control II. Hygiene and occupational safety. Surface preservation of product, coat system. Legislature concerning to operating materials (ČSN, EN, ISO standards and another regulations). Informational and educational system for operating materials field (atlas, tutorial, databases)

Learning outcomes
Give information about properties of operating materials used in the transport and about methods of their analysis and their application.
Studying the course student will obtain information about properties, testing methods and quality parameters of fuel, petroleum lubricants, recoil-liquids and coolant and another operating materials using in the transport.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment

The assignment confirms that, the student of daily form of schooling attended obligatory education properly, that he joined solving of assigned tasks actively, and that he fulfilled requests which are necessary for this assignment confirmation. Active participation on all practical lesson (participation in all practical lessons, passing suitable report form them). Conditions for assignment confirmation are determined by tutor. Exam from this course (form, conclusion, duration) is in conformity with Studying and examining rules of University Pardubice. The exam consists of oral and writing parts. The successful passing of writing part is necessary condition for oral exam. During semester, student has to pass all practical exercises individually. During final exam student has to prove his understanding of topics mentioned above and to prove ability to solve assigned tasks individually. Particular requests will be past to students in the first part of education by tutor.
