Course content
1. Introduction - classification, manufacturers and requirements for special vehicles. 2. Brake systems on special vehicles. 3. Single-track vehicles and their specifics. 4. Racing vehicles (cars, trucks, etc.). 5. Tank vehicles (driving modes, shells, etc.). 6. Movement of multi-axle vehicles and combination vehicles. 7. Superstructures of road vehicles. 8. Vehicles for measuring road adhesion properties. 9. Working machines.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Home preparation for classes - 26 hours per semester
  • Practical training - 8 hours per semester
  • Participation in classes - 42 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 26 hours per semester
  • Data/material collection - 18 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of special road, single-track vehicles and machines for road construction and maintenance.
After completion of the course, the student will gain knowledge about special road vehicles and their structures.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of cinematic motion mechanism. Knowledge of application of force and moments, resolution of forces.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

The condition for participation in the exam is for students of the full-time form of study to obtain credit. The credit confirms that the student has sufficiently participated in the lessons and that he/she met the requirements. The specific requirements will be defined by a lecturer in the first week of the semester. The subject exam (oral and written) for full-time form of study is determined in accordance with the UPa Study and Examination Regulations.
