Learning outcomes
|
This subject is design to cover the essentials knowledge base required by engineers engaged in power processing activities. In additions, this subject should appeal to student of power electronics and others attention training and educational establishment engaged in power electronics applications, transportation and aircraft industry. The subject provides an introduction to the fundamentals of power electronics switch (MOSFET, IGBT), systems of converters (ac-to-dc, dc-to-dc, ac-to-ac and dc-to-ac) and their control. This subject establishes a reference point for modern technology of power electronics such a soft-switching or HVDC technology.
Allows an in-depth discussion of several important topics of power electronics (converter applications, power switch; PWM techniques; designing feedbac kontrol and magnetic circuits)

Prerequisites

The knowledge of the subjects: Electrical fundamentals (Power, Energy, Electromagnetism); Electronic fundamentals (Semiconductors theory, diodes, transistors, thyristor, integrated circuits); Digital fundamentals; Electric motor drives (AC and DC generator and motors); Magnetic circuits (inductors and transformers);
