Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
Goal of this subject is to give basic information about electrical equipment in transport. The subject is composed of two parts. The first part is focused on power engineering, traction systems and electric traction. The second part is focused on control-command and signalling systems. In both parts, the rail transport is especially in the focus.
Completing this subject, student will be informed about electrical equipment used in transport. He/she will be acquainted with power engineering, traction systems and electric traction. Further, he/she will be acquainted with control-command and signalling systems, also with them particularities (especially with their safety requirements and basic principles for their fulfilling).
Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic terms and principles which are used in organisation and operation of railway transport is required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Student has to prove his/her ability to understand solved topics during the semester and at the final examination. Actual requirements will be told to the students by teacher at the beginning of the semester.
