Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
Goal of the subject is to give fundamental information about techniques of railway transport safety ensuring, to define a Control-command and signalling system term, to analyse its requirements (functional safety, technical safety), and to get students briefly acquainted with the control-command and signalling systems of different kinds and types. Further, to mention basic information about terms and principles used for safety ensuring of road and air traffic.
Completing this subject, student will be informed about techniques of safety of railway transport ensuring. He/she will be acquainted with control-command and signalling systems, also with them particularities (especially with their safety requirements and principles for their fulfilling). Further, he/she will be informed about individual kinds and types of used control-command and signalling systems and about principles of road and air transport safety ensuring by encyclopaedic form.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic terms and principles which are used in organisation and operation of railway transport as well as elementary knowledge of physics and electrical engineering is assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Student has to prove his/her ability to understand solved topics during the semester and at the final examination. Particular requirements will be told to the students by the teacher at the beginning of the semester.
