1. Errors of the measurement, accuracy and reliability of the measurement. 2. Principles of digital measuring devices. 3. Analog to digital convertesr, digital to analog converters. 4. Scopes, logic analyzers. 5. Voltage sources, function generators. 6. Measurement of AC and DC voltages and currents. 7. Measurement of electrical quantities (resistivity, induction, capacity). 8. Measurement of the parameters of semiconductor components. 9. Measurement of the frequency, period and delays. 10. Measurement of non electrical quantities. 11. Measurement of magnetic characteristics of the materials. 12. Measurement of electrical power. 13. Measuring systems. The lessons will be realized remotely using the MS Teams program at the time according to the schedule in case of extraordinary measures. Attending group meetings at MS Teams is equivalent to attending lectures and seminars.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Skills training
  • Contact teaching - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 120 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
This subject is introduction to measurements of electrical and non electrical quantities. The students will know workflow for the different measurements and principles of the measuring devices. Important part of the lessons will be introduction to the theory of the measurements and practical implementation of this theory. Students will be able to build a measuring workplace, control different measuring devices and via protocols make an analysis and represents obtained results.
Student will obtaine to ability to building a measuring workplace and measure the basic electrical quantities during the subject (current, voltage, phase shift of the signals, ...), represents obtained results from measurement, identify the errors of the measurement and reduce of this errors via modification of workflow of the measurement. Student will be able to measure VA characteristics of the electrical components and will be able to use laboratories devices (scope, source, ...) and know principles of this devices.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for the fulfillment of the object is passing of the subjects KMF/BFYZA and KE/BELT1.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Course credit: Student must visited lessons and submit the protocols from the measurements. Passing the exam: Exam will be oral. The lessons will be realized remotely using the MS Teams program at the time according to the schedule in case of extraordinary measures. Attending group meetings at MS Teams is equivalent to attending lectures and seminars.
