Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Laboratory work
  • Home preparation for classes - 28 hours per semester
  • Participation in classes - 52 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an exam - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course expands the student's knowledge in the areas of EMC standards, industrial sources of interference and the types of couplings through which interference is transferred. In addition, students get acquainted with selected chapters of electromagnetic field theory. Emphasis is also placed on the analysis of galvanic, capacitive, inductive and radiation (electromagnetic field) coupling. Subsequently, students get acquainted with frequency planning and laboratories for electromagnetic compatibility measurement. In the last part of the course, the testing of the electromagnetic susceptibility of systems, improving their resistance to interference and ways to the interference elimination will be introduced to students. The course is extended by the interpretation overvoltage protection, of interference factors and EMC in the case of UWB.
The students will get the skills to define and modify the electro-magnetic susceptibility, and measure the susceptibility and interference.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for the completing of the course is the ability of the analytical thinking and the basic awareness of the electrical circuits.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Credit requirements: Student must attend the exercises and submit the protocols from the practical lessons. Exam requirements: The subject exam is written and oral (2 questions from the question list based on the theoretical lessons).
