Course content
The topic of the course of selected chapters of ethics will be rise of ethical issues v classical time of Greeks philosophy (Socrates, Plato, Aristoteles), attention will be payd to: hellenistic ethics till Augustine´s conflict of two cities: City of Man and the City of God.

Learning outcomes
Aim of this course is to introduce students into thought of ethics especially in relation to education and politics - primarily in ancient and mediaeval times. Intention of this course is also to cultivate the ethical dimension of life in dialogue with philosophical works of the past.
Students will obtain better understanding of what it is ethical consciousness and its actual meaning. They will recognize it from historical perspective and they will know how it was developed in different times.

Active participation during lectures is required (Attendance must be 80% or more). Credit will depend upon two written tests and a seminar paper on a consulted topic (10 pages in length).
