The objective of this course is to consider the origin of the first forms of education of the European type, i.e. the ancient Greek paideia and the concepts that are connected with it - eros, filia, paiderastia, filosofia, and so on.
Students will learn about the roots (the beginnings of "education"), which will provide the basis for an understanding of the nature, meaning, or possibilities of contemporary education. The objective is to develop and cultivate the students' ability to reflect critically on the pedagogical and educational occupation, mostly via its historical reflection. |
