Presentations at the PhD Seminar: The doctoral student participates actively in the regular doctoral seminar in the first three years of her study (see the courses PHDS1-PHDS3; students in part-time mode can fulfil the requirement up to the fourth year of study). Full-time students are required to actively attend at least 75% of seminar sessions. The credit is awarded by the seminar coordinator or the programme guarantor at the end of the academic year. In the seminar, the students present their work in progress: the full-time students in each semester, and the part-time students at least once in the academic year. The last of the scheduled presentations (in the sixth semester, at the latest, for full-time students; in the eighth semester, for part-time students) takes the form of ?mock defence?: the student submits a comprehensive part of her dissertation (at least 3 chapters, at least 20000-25000 words) that she then defends at the seminar. If all study requirements have been fulfilled earlier and the student plans to submit the final version of her thesis for PhD defence before the end of 3rd year of study, the final PHDS3 credits can be awarded earlier (at the end of the semester preceding the planned submission of the dissertation).
